Prijedor is considered both a town and a municipality in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the banks of the river Sana, Prijedor's pride, and it is surrounded by hills of Kozara Mountain. Prijedor is the third largest city, both by size and population, in the Republic of Serbian entity, which administratively belongs to and is overall the seventh in Bosnia and Herzegovina.


Cultural and historical heritage, natural resources

Existing cultural and historical values the most important are the following representing the highlight of tourist offer: Kozara Museum, the Memorial house of Stojanovic family, National library "Cyril and Methodius", Prijedor’s Theatre, Gallery "Gallery '96", the Museum of the Kozara National Park, wooden churches and many cultural clubs.
A dozen buildings dating from the Turkish and Austro-Hungarian empires, testifying to the different periods of development of the city and its surroundings are: Captain's quarters, the Old Town, the building of the Museum of Kozara house Lazar Stojanovic-Cvrki, Memorial house of Stojanovic family, Klisina Monastery, parish Surkovac - Roman Catholic Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
